Neighbors are something we have to learn living with, whether we like it or not. Sometimes they can cause problems – most often it’s nothing serious. Loud music at night, knocking over your fence post with their car, failing to take care of their lawn so that the bushes block your own side of the yard… These issues can be easily dealt with and then it’s peace and love again.

But what if your neighbor is a fan of something that is not even nearly acceptable? Let’s say, he is a serial killer. What if the noise coming from his place isn’t from the yelling speakers, but from yelling victims? And the hammering and chainsaw wheezing has nothing to do with redesigning the place? Dark Riddle gives you a chance to confirm or discard your gruesome suspicions once and for all. To do that, you will have to go on a rather risky mission – sneaking into your neighbor’s home and snooping around.

You should realize that it’s nothing like banal curiosity. If you are caught exploring his place while he’s gone, he won’t call the police and won’t let you get away with it. You’ll probably join his body count and stay lying in the basement as another dismembered corpse. So it’s in your best interest to keep a low profile even if you think the neighbor is out of the house. Because he can actually be lurking around, stalking you and waiting for the moment to strike. And make no mistake, he won’t hesitate to do it when the opportunity is right!

For now, the best you can do is just hope he still isn’t on to you and keep looking, moving around on your tiptoes. What exactly are you looking for? Anything that can point you in the right direction. Clues, evidence, traces of crimes. Sure, he isn’t that stupid as to kill his victims right in the living room. But you can notice small things he forgot to take care of. And remember to add any objects that seem useful to your inventory – who knows, maybe you’ll need them soon. There are plenty of ways in which you can interact with them to solve puzzles that make up an important part of the gameplay.

The whole home is basically one giant riddle to cope with. You’ll constantly run into locked drawers, cabinets and doors, missing staircases that are hidden behind wall panels and tricky mechanisms activating secret passages. It takes logic and ingenuity to figure out what to do with all this. Make sure your neighbor is exposed and find his kill room before you end up there on your own and not willingly!
